FAQ

  • What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine that restores harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. There are channels of energy that flow through your body called meridians. The various acupuncture points access these meridians and the associated functions to restore proper flow. Each point has a unique spirit to it that sends a subtle yet profound message to your being. I am trained in 5 Element Acupuncture which uses very few points and often does not require that I leave the needles in. My treatments are usually 3-5 points.

  • How does distance acupuncture work?

To access acupuncture points over a distance, I start by showing you where each of the points I will be using are so you can touch each one.

After that you are invited to get comfy and completely relax. I’ll begin guiding a meditation and offering energy healing. During this meditation I’ll guide us to the points again.

I will also be connecting to the points within myself. as if my own finger were the needle, I will come to the point on my own body with the intention of using it as a conduit to connect to the point in you.

  • Are distance treatments less effective?

In short, no. In my experience with patients, the points are felt and the effects are just as noticeable as with in person treatments.

Even with the use of needles, acupuncture is fundamentally a form of energy healing.

The greater ability a practitioner has to act as a channel for the energy to flow through, the more powerful the treatment will be. this power does not come from the needles themselves, it comes from the relationship between the patient(s), practitioner, and divine source energy (aka god, goddess, nature, the universe, etc.)
